Day 1 – Arrival in Tirana & Transfer to Shkodra

Arrive at Tirana International Airport, where you’ll meet your driver and begin your journey north to the charming city of Shkodra, one of the oldest and most vibrant cultural centers in Albania.We suggest starting your visit with a walk through the historic center, followed by a visit to the impressive Rozafa Castle, which offers panoramic views over the city and the surrounding lakes. Later, take some time to relax and enjoy the lively atmosphere of Shkodra’s streets and cafés.In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at a traditional restaurant, a perfect introduction to Albanian hospitality and cuisine.

Day 2 – Theth National Park - Mountains of Albania

Today we will head to Theth National Park, a hidden gem nestled deep in the Albanian Alps. The drive itself is an experience, with breathtaking mountain views, traditional villages, and untouched nature along the way. Upon arrival, we suggest taking a light hike to explore the surroundings, as visiting the Grunas Waterfall or the Lock-in Tower, both symbols of Theth’s history and beauty. You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the fresh mountain air and the tranquility of this remote valley. In the evening, settle into your guesthouse in the mountains, where you’ll enjoy a home-cooked dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by nature’s silence and starlit skies.

Day 3 – Hiking across the Valbona Pass to Valbona Valley National Park

Today’s journey takes you through one of Albania’s most breathtaking mountain routes, the Valbona Pass. Depart Theth in the morning and enjoy a scenic transfer through dramatic landscapes of alpine peaks, deep valleys, and winding mountain roads. Along the way, you’ll have plenty of photo stops to take in the stunning views of the Accursed Mountains, among the most beautiful in the Balkans. Upon arrival in Valbona Valley National Park, you’ll find yourself surrounded by pristine natural crystal-clear rivers, pine forests, and majestic peaks. This area is often called the heart of the Albanian Alps and is a true paradise for hikers and nature enthusiasts.

Day 4 – Valbona Valley National Park

We suggest taking a short guided trek to explore the valley, perhaps an easy trail toward Old Mill Valley or Xhemes Lake, both offering wonderful panoramic views. For those seeking something lighter, you can simply enjoy a peaceful walk, meet local villagers, or relax at your guesthouse terrace, soaking in the mountain serenity. In the evening, unwind with a traditional dinner prepared with local ingredients, and enjoy the quiet beauty of the alpine night in your Valbona guesthouse.

Day 5 – Transfer to Montenegro & Skadar Lake

Skadar Lake, located in central Montenegro, is one of the country’s five national parks and the largest lake in the Balkans. The region is also famous for the native Vranac grape, used in Montenegro’s renowned wines. During this tour, you can enjoy a variety of experiences, including a boat tour with birdwatching and a visit to a local winery to taste wines and sample regional culinary specialties.

Day 6 – Ostrog Monastery & Cooking Experience

The Monastery of Ostrog is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the Balkans. Visitors can choose to hike through the forest path from the Lower to the Upper Monastery, which takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes depending on pace, or enjoy a scenic drive directly to the top. At the monastery, there is time to explore the church cave of Saint Vasilije Ostroški and admire the stunning architecture and surroundings. On the way back to Podgorica, we can either stop at Restaurant Sokoline or visit a local home for a traditional lunch and culinary experience, including a hands-on cooking class where you can learn to prepare Montenegrin specialties.

Day 7 – Cetinje & Lovćen National Park

Cetinje is the historical heart of Montenegro and the ideal place to learn more about the country’s history and its people. The town is home to several fascinating museums, including King Nikola’s Palace and the Billiard Hall. Located just above Cetinje, we typically include a visit to Lovćen National Park, which offers spectacular panoramic views. Here, you can enjoy easy hiking, cycling, or a climb to the Mausoleum. The perfect way to end the day is a visit to the Kotor Cable Car, where you can enjoy a sunset drink and take in breathtaking views, providing a memorable conclusion to your tour.

Day 8 – Budva Riviera

Budva Riviera is certainly Montenegrin’s most important touristic spot and place with many beaches (21km long riviera). Among the spots we include in our tour is stop at Sveti Stefan for a walk near Milocer beach and visit to Przno, small fisherman’s place, where you can have sea-food lunch in a mediterranean atmosphere. In the afternoon we recommend visit to Budva Old Town with the Citadele. The rest of the day you can use for swimming or just enjoying the beaches and sun!

Day 9 – Kotor Bay: Kotor & Perast

Today we will take a deep dive into the beauty of Kotor Bay, home to UNESCO-protected sites such as the Old Town of Kotor and the charming coastal village of Perast. In both locations, you’ll enjoy a guided tour to learn about their rich history and cultural significance. From Perast, a boat trip will take you to the islet of Our Lady of the Rock, famous for its beautiful Baroque church and fascinating legends. This area is also perfect for fine dining, with excellent opportunities to taste fresh local oysters and mussels while enjoying stunning views of the bay.
